Desi Summer Squash
Desi summer squash is a very rare heirloom variety that grows quickly making it perfect for shorter season areas like the PNW. The small round squash start out a pale green and ripen to a bright yellow color. They are best harvested when they are still shiny and green and smaller than a baseball, which is when they are the most tender. The compact plants make them a great choice for those with limited garden space.
Squash are heavy feeders and prefer very fertile soil with good drainage. They require consistent moisture for good growth. pH 5.8 to 6.8
Squash grow best in the warm weather of summer. Direct seed or transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed.
