Benning's Green Tint Scalloped Summer Squash


Description
Benning's Green Tint scallop squash are a classic heirloom variety with great yields of saucer shaped fruits that take on a very pale green coloration. Scallop squash are known for their firm texture making them great for slow cooked recipes like soup. The squash can grow to the size of a small plate, but are best harvested young when they reach 2" to 3" in diameter.

Soil Preference
Squash are heavy feeders and prefer very fertile soil with good drainage. They require consistent moisture for good growth. ​pH 5.8 to 6.8

Sunlight Preference
Full sun

Planting
Squash grow best in the warm weather of summer. Direct seed or transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed.
