Coastal Star Romaine Lettuce
Coastal Star romaine lettuce has always been a reliable, delicious, and crisp lettuce in our trials. The plants form very large and sturdy heads with a dense heart, perfect for making Caesar salads. This is a heat tolerant variety making it good for spring and late summer harvests.
Will grow in a wide range of soil types but prefers a slightly acidic loamy soil with high fertility. pH 6.2 to 6.5
Can be transplanted in early spring or directly sown into the garden a couple weeks before the last frost. May be grown all summer in cooler summer regions. Plant heat tolerant varieties for summer production.
