Description
Black Seeded Simpson is a very popular green leaf heirloom lettuce. This lettuce is highly adaptable to a wide variety of conditions including heat, frost, and drought. Resistant to tip burn and downy mildew. Produces a full size head of lettuce in just 45 days.

Will grow in a wide range of soil types but prefers a slightly acidic loamy soil with high fertility. pH 6.2 to 6.5

Planting
Can be transplanted in early spring or directly sown into the garden a couple weeks before the last frost. May be grown all summer in cooler summer regions. Plant heat tolerant varieties for summer production.
