Dolores Onion Chives

Allium schoenoprasum

Description
Dolores chives are a variety of common chives with a uniform upright habit perfect for bunching.  Chives flower with lovely purple flowers in summer, which are also edible and make a great garnish for salads. 

Life Cycle
Perennial Zones 3-9

Soil Preference
Fertile soil high in organic matter. Add compost to the area prior to planting.

Sunlight Preference
Full sun to partial shade

Planting
Transplant to the garden in spring or early fall. Divide clumps every 3 to 4 years.
