Holy Basil (Kapoor Tulsi)
Ocimum africanum
Description
Holy Basil or Kapoor tulsi is an ancient medicinal herb used in India and Thailand. The leaves have an intoxicating aroma reminiscent of bubblegum and anise. The flowers of this plant will attract pollinators in droves, making it a great plant for a pollinator garden. The leaves are typically used to make tea, which is said to be calming and adaptogenic. It can also be used to make Thai cuisine and brings a very unique flavor to the dish. It is a very heat tolerant herb - it will grow strong all summer long. One of our all time favorite herbs!
