Emily basil is a classic Genovese type basil with sweet basil flavor perfect for pizza, Italian food, or pesto. Emily stands out for its broad disease resistance and compact growth habit, which makes it good for growing in containers. It reaches about 12" to 18" tall and grows quickly, making it perfect for multiple harvests throughout the growing season.
Prefers well-draining soil with medium fertility and neutral pH (6.8 to 7.0) Add lime to the soil if too acidic.
Basil only grows well in warm weather and can be damaged by temperatures below 50 degrees. Transplant out into the garden when temperatures have reached at least 70 degrees during the day and 50+ degrees at night.
